The challenge
I wanted to follow AI news in Finnish, but much of the most interesting information is in English-language podcasts and YouTube videos. Following and translating them manually would take too much time.
What I built
A desktop application where I paste a YouTube link. It retrieves captions, structures them into topics with AI and writes a Finnish news digest. I review the result and publish it directly to Kuusi News with one button.
Why I built it
Kuusi News is also my own learning project. I can follow exactly the AI topics that interest me while learning to build the full publishing pipeline from retrieval and structuring to writing and publication.
Follow technological change
Follow Kuusi News to keep up with AI, humanoid robots and other rapidly advancing technologies. International podcasts and videos can surface subjects before they reach Finnish news, including unusual and in-depth topics.
My role
I designed and built the entire pipeline: link input, caption retrieval, topic structuring, news generation and publishing. I also aligned the visual identity of Kuusi News with Kuusi Design.
