Reveal hidden risks in contracts.

The challenge

Reviewing long contracts and their appendices manually is slow and prone to error. Risks hidden in details can easily go unnoticed when there is a large amount of material.

What we built

ContractStorm Intelligence was commissioned by and built with Diamond Consulting. They defined the operating logic and consultant risk-assessment methods; I built the interface, AI guidance and authentication. The application analyses the contract and its appendices and produces a risk report from either the buyer’s or supplier’s perspective.

Use cases

The service can provide a rapid first review when a draft arrives or a final check after a manual review. AI keeps the whole body of material in context, helping find details hidden in appendices that are difficult to retain in human memory.

Example analysis

The example uses Hansel’s public, anonymised travel-services framework agreement template from the buyer’s perspective. The application identified issues such as limits of supplier liability, scored risks by probability, impact and detectability, and proposed corrective clauses. The example is not related to a real customer assignment.

My role

I implemented the interface, per-user Firebase authentication and AI guidance based on Diamond Consulting’s operating logic and assessment methods. The application runs on Google cloud infrastructure. I also built the Storm AI assistant, which answers questions about the service and information security around the clock.

Benefits and limits

The application finds hidden contract risks faster than a manual review. Analysis is stateless: submitted contract data is not stored in ContractStorm systems and is not retained by Diamond Consulting or me. It supports, but does not replace, a lawyer’s assessment. The commercial product is available through Diamond Consulting.
