Digital avatar.
My digital self as a website presenter.
Watch the digital avatar in action
In this 34-second video, my digital self introduces AI-arki training in Finnish. The same video appears inside a phone frame on the training website. It was produced with HeyGen.
My digital self
I created a digital avatar of myself using HeyGen and used it to introduce the AI-arki training course. On the website, I appear inside a phone: visitors can start a short video and listen to the introduction in Finnish.
Finnish speech surprised me
Based on this experiment, the quality of Finnish avatar video is already remarkably good. Speech, pronunciation and facial movement make the introduction easy to follow. The technology continues to develop, including its Finnish language quality. This video captures how my own experiment looks and sounds in autumn 2026.
In use on the AI-arki website
The avatar introduces an actual online course. A phone frame gives the video a clear place on the page, and visitors start playback themselves. Written information accompanies the introduction, so they can explore the course without watching the video.
My role
I created my digital avatar with HeyGen and put it to use in the AI-arki website presentation. The project combines message planning, choosing a suitable format and fitting video into the website experience. Content, speech and expressions are reviewed before a video is published.
Where else this approach can be used
The same approach can support course introductions, short product guides, employee onboarding or a welcome video on an expert’s website. A digital avatar can bring a familiar presenter to content that needs to be produced and updated without arranging a new filming session every time.
